I would like end the debate about the Chinese tattoo. It is certainly DaWei Wang/King David. I had trouble translating it, cause my readn and writing in Chinese aint so good, but my listening and speaking are a bit better. So I asked my Chinese Bible reading wife to take a look at that tattoo. She knew what it meant instantly and as soon as she read it out loud I recognized it as easily as she did. It cannot easily be translated any other way.

By the way, DaWei Wang is a very unique name and could not be used today unless you were a king named David for his family name or only name. DaWei is not a Chinese name, it a transliteration of the name David. Chinese put their family names first, thus David Wang in English would be Wang DaWei in Chinese. Chinese to put titles such as Mr., President or King last. So Wang in the last position can only be a title not a name. Chinese always use a president's last name with their title, never their first name.

ps. Since the characters are pure Mandarin Chinese and have a clear meaning in Chinese, we ought to stay with the simplest and clearest meaning. Anyone who is not a native speaker of Japanese is not to be trusted when discerning the meaning of Chinese characters in a Japanese context.
